So, kids, what are you wearing to the Diacon Victory Ball? :DDD Even if you're far too cool for actually dressing up for it and going in jeans, do tell me! Is anyone cosplaying? Personally I've not been out in MONTHS, due to work and then losing my only form of ID, and I am going to dress up and dance with anyone who'll have me.
I just spent over an hour looking through my favourite fashion sites looking for a dress for the Diacon Victory Ball; the search confirmed my decision to wear a dress I already own. I haven't worn it out yet, though - and being the very definition of a fatshionista (which is one of those terms that wibbles between stupid and just. so. fitting) I do not consider any of the time looking at dresses wasted :D
The dress I'm wearing is very pretty, but it's coral. I always aim for attention when I buy Going Out Dresses - not necessarily sexual attention, but if I am going to spend money on an evening dress I want people to look at me in it. Still, coral. Wearing a tan dress in daytime required getting one with a black lace hem to help me make the transition. I am a fan of black. Also silver, grey, and purple. Occasionally blue or green. This orange-red is a whole other palette.
BUT. It is terribly pretty, and has batwing sleeves that make me feel like a more orangey Morticia Adams. It is also terribly short, but not so short that I cannot dance without flashing people, which makes it a Happy Medium when it comes to my evening wardrobe.
Most crucially, it's perhaps not so much coral as orangey red - and I have black tights and purple shoes. Also purple tights and black shoes. Either way, I will be going to the Ball in Diacon colours. :D
And, fingers crossed, with a terribly good-looking redheaded young man in a purple shirt on one arm. For grate co-ordination win.
I do love me a redhead. Almost everyone I've fancied since I was about seventeen has been either redheaded or black, with a few brunette diversions. I don't generally think of myself as having a type, but... yeah.
