LDWS, Smutastic, hp_creatures, help_pakistan, Dreamwidth... and RL
*yawns* I am terribly bleary right now from packing, but I wish to post! I am terribly behind on any number of fandom things and only likely to get more so. (Although the fact that - as you may have noticed - I spent much of today and yesterday catching up on the flist has been fun and helped that situation.) Here is what’s going on with me fandom-wise:
I did the H/D LDWS, and got kicked out after Week 4! The whole thing was fantastic and challenging and I would totally do it again. The drabbles coming out are awesome -- vaysh11’s week 5 drabble absolutely blew me away - so READ!
The Dance of Writerly Validation was danced today because I WON BEST FEMMESLASH AT SMUTASTIC AWARDS! Hell yes! *dances* I have a pretty banner and everything! It’s utterly ridiculous for me to win in that category but I am not going to question it, because I enjoy my girls-kissing banner.
I’m Reccer of the Month over at hp_creatures! Any incredible creature!fic you feel has gone unrecognised? Let me know! I have yet to track down a femmeslash creature!fic, despite my efforts, so if you can link me to one that’s not Pit of Voles-quality I’ll be forever grateful.
I’ve been hit by an avalanche of friends at Dreamwidth, which is nice! You know what would be even nicer? Posting of your fic to DW comms, such as rondraco, harrylovesdraco, hp_fanfiction, variety_is, btvs_ats_slash, hp_femmeslash, hp_diversity, hp_femsmut... Because, as I’ve mentioned before, Dreamwidth comms need more fic that’s not by me. Seriously.
And since rondraco is my own special baby comm, I will be especially happy if you post there :)
In other happy, fandom-related news, I got me some awesome stuffs from help_pakistan! Four handmade TARDIS coasters, which I am going to give to one of my friends for his birthday and which we will use for our glasses full of Sonic Screwdriver, an excellent and mind-numbingly blue cocktail. Thirty icons with poetry and/or song lyrics on them, because I am a literature geek (I know, you’re shocked.) An anigurumi soft toy (shut up). Haven’t quite decided the specs for that - I’m thinking an ickle Ron who will steal dora_the_nymph’s Draco away from her Harry might be fun :)
AND a terribly pretty necklace! Made from a real leaf! With a poem on it made from words cut out of a book of Shakespeare’s sonnets! It is right up my street. It is right up in my house, one might say. Even if sometimes I will hear the screaming of the maimed book in my dreams...
And then I did something more indulgent than all the other bids put together and got myself an illustration of one of my fanfics. It must be under 10k, and none of the illustrations can be porn! Any particular suggestions? Am still debating which fic gets chibi!illustrations and its own PDF. *seriously so self-indulgent*
Just in case I don’t get a chance to post again - I’m heading back up to Norwich tonight! I have yet to finish packing! I must also tidy my room, rec an awesome creature!fic, send a variety of important letters, call Virgin to ask why the student house still has no internet and I will be TORN FROM YOUR BOSOM so soon!
