At least the correctable vision problems mostly just means we wear glasses - we don't wander around finding things blurry all the time. But that's why when my vision *isn't* corrected, I pretty much can't do anything useful. :-)
Also, I think I'd rather keep my eyes over my hands - at least with hands they have prosthetics. There aren't any prosthetics for eyes!
Having only one that really works (I should have been one of those little kids who wear an eye patch on their good eye til the weak one gets strong, but they found it too late), I'm a bit extra paranoid about eye stuff. But I really don't think it requires paranoia to take the attitude that I do: First sign of anything wrong with my eyes, go directly to the Mass Eye & Ear Emergency Room. When you live four T stops from the best care in the world, and they have a 24/7 ER, why go anywhere else?
