On Human Nature.
Okay, yeah, Heart of Darkness is one of the most depressing books ever. Well, maybe not, but, it did get me questioning whether or not I actually believe that humans are inherently good. Lord of the Flies had no effect on my thoughts on this... but, this, this, little novella by Condrad has got me thinking... his theroys make sense.
But, no. I refuse to belive we are all shallow, evil, savages, waiting to appear as soon as the lights go out. Some of us must be good at the core. Right?
Ack. Maybe I'm just affraid I might be evil...
No, I shall have self control, and choose to be good.
Yes, I think that might be it. We are all born, both good and evil, and then, choose which we shall be. I can accept that, for the time being...
