*Dance!*
I did it. 9,281 words later, "Of the Green World" is first-draft-done. DONE. Other than poetry and a smattering of creative assignments in college, this is the first original work I've ever finished. It's a world entirely my own, draws on folklore, has a touch of romance (the true-love kind, this is me after all) and a touch of magic, and I feel like floating somewhere three or thirteen feet above normal. I love writing fan-fiction. I will probably never stop. But these characters, their slang, their situations and their story are all mine, and I love them in an entirely different way.
Which is not to say there is not editing to be done. Sweet jumping beans, there is still work to be done, and I'll be happy to do it, but I'm going to be going to sleep SO HAPPY tonight, I can't even tell you without sounding completely insane.

And tomorrow, I will finish blue-spandex-soaking for Laura. Unless I'm too jumpy to sleep, in which case I will do it tonight. Johnny's been most cooperative the last two days.
