Happy Labor Day!

For Me and Lucie's birthday yesterday, we did end up going to San Francisco, except this time we went to the Japanese Tea Gardens! It was very beautiful there. We took lots of pictures. Our philosophy is that the more pictures you take, the better the chance that one turns out decent.

We saw that movie The Brothers Grimm on Saturday. There were some things I liked, and some things I didn't. Since I knew it was by Terry Glliam, I knew it was going to be weird, and probably disturbing somehow, and boy was it. There were parts I found pretty gross, and I wish it had been more fairy-tale-like. What I did like was the cinematography, the soundtrack, and the art of it. If you're not sure whether to see it or not, I'd wait until video.

One of our birthday presents was Pom Poko, a cartoon by Studio Ghibli (though not directed by Hayao Miyazaki)! We watched it last night(Matt Groening had told us to see it at Comic Con in 2004!), and it was very cool. It's about racoons, and it was seriously clever and cute and cool. There was narration through most of it, and it was just a ver charming (sorry, no better word to describe it), though very long move.

BIRTHDAY WISHES FROM ME, LUCIE! SORRY I DIDN'T GET YOU ANYTHING! <3
