Dissidia Duodecium Confirmed in Shounen Jump
Time to break out the News tag - the rumors are true!
Gaming Everything has posted a scan from Weekly Shounen Jump which confirms Dissidia's sequel - Dissidia Duodecium. Or "Dissidia 012" as the title logo indicates. This might actually make it a prequel if it ends up covering any of the 12 previous wars of Dissidia. The first announced characters are Kain Highwind of FFIV and Lightning of FFXIII, who the team had wanted to include in the first game but decided against.
More news will probably be announced at the Tokyo Game Show, September 16-19.
ETA: The tagline shown in the scan reads, "The glorious war between Light and Dark begins!" and the character descriptors are "Kain - The Cool Dragoon" and "Lightning - The Lightspeed Woman Warrior." Hopefully larger scans will surface to allow for more translations.
ETA2: According to Andriasang, the release date is set for 2011 and it is possible that a playable demo will be revealed as early as TGS, if this was the mystery game Nomura mentioned in earlier interviews.
