Just what every happy, healthy, growing boy needs?
This little project of mine takes the name "Operation Noodle Boy" straight from the old 90's comic book, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (featured here in this entry's user icon.) "Happy Noodle Boy" was the comic strip that NNY wrote and illustrated featuring an insane stick figure that rambled incoherently like a homeless crazy person would. "Noodle Boy" was the nickname that Johnny's high school peers would call him because of his skinny build.
I'm not nearly as skinny. Unfortunately, I just put on a lot of body fat without really counter balancing it by putting on equal amounts of muscle. I became, paradoxically, a skinny-fat man. Pretty damn unflattering.
Funny enough, my trainer wanted me to weigh in tonight, just to assess the damage from my vacation, as I only had one day in the gym with my Father in Burney, but plenty of Holiday food, junk and beers to go around.
I actually came back weighing 4 lbs less than when we took my measurements at the end of December. Neither of us were expecting that. At all.
FFS, let me put it this way. Sunday? I ate a bacon double-del cheeseburger, a side of fries, two cheesecake bites, 3 20 oz. cokes, a can of Chef Boyardee mini-raviolis, and, I shit you not, a half a package of soft batch chips ahoy cookies. Because, you know, it's the last day of my vacation, so fuck it, because I'm going back into the gym and re-starting my diet again on Monday.
4 lb loss? Seriously? How does that happen? Did I contract Cancer last week? My trainer (whose name is Seth, btw, in case I've never mentioned that,) concluded that it only means my metabolism is really starting to amp up again, back to previous levels unheard of since my early 20's maybe.
Tonight I attacked my biceps and chest (and a little bit on my abs as well, which usually get worked into everything we do to at least to some minimal extent.) As Seth supervised, he commented I'm starting to become "Ruthless" and kept adding weight onto what I was doing as I plowed through everything he started me with.
I like that. I've been also riding a level of anger that's been ebbing and droning like a pissed off bee in the back of my head ever since I came back from California. But that's for another entry. In the meantime, I was just glad I was able to harness and focus that intensity. It was cathartic.
We outlined a goal for the end of this month to aim for another 2-5% body fat loss. He said 2% would be a good achievement, I wanted 3%, but we're going to see if we can't get even higher. I told him I'm matching my dieting intensity with our workout intensity (and so far this week, I am.)
Next progress report will be at the end of this month.
