Sigur Ros=cop out?
I loathe feeling manipulated, but I can't help it when Sigur Ros is used in any from of film or advertising. First there was Njosnavelin off of ( ) from Vanilla Sky, which made that ending MUCH better than it deserved. And then Staralfur in the climax of Life Aquatic, which was completely out of place, shamelessly manipulative, and, I must confess, moved me a bit. This weekend, Channel 4 had a three hour show on the 50 greatest Documentaries of all time, and the adverts just shows hundreds of clips from various docs edited together beautifully with track 3 from "( )" playing. I really wanted to watch it after that, although i didn't get a chance to. Either way. I think someone should put one of their songs over a guy chewing Skoal and spitting into a plastic nacho tray in slow-motion, just to test the theory.
