Video-Gaming of Old....

I haven't forgotten that I have a blog, so I decided to keep it alive by little posts on this and that. The main problem is that whenever I have the ability to sit at the computer and start writing, I can't for the life of me think of a topic worthy of musing on. But, among the interests and hobbies I have at this point, I have been exploring videogaming.

Tho I don't stay hip to the modern trends, I stay devoted to gaming during particular time frames. Two "eras" in console videogaming that I enjoy can be named by the types of CPUs that the consoles are equipped with. Those are the "16-bit" and "32-bit" eras. The 16-bit-era consoles were the TurboGrafx-16 (PC Engine) by NEC and Hudson Soft, the Genesis (Mega Drive) by Sega, and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super Famicom) by Nintendo. The games of this era were virtually all 2-dimensional, with most of the modern genres of gaming were present (Action, RPG, Driving, Fighting). The 32-bit machines include the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer by 3DO, the Saturn by Sega, the PlayStation by Sony and the Nintendo 64. These games introduced 3-D perspectives as a practical application, and serves, I think, pretty much as the bridge between gaming of the 20th century and the gaming of now.

One thing I'd like to is write some articles in my blog devoted to certain old game systems, games, technology, etc., that is obsolete today, but still enjoyed today by "retrogamers". It's something that I love, and I think that it would do well to pay homage to these old works of art. The styles, music, and trends of older days every once in a while make a comeback, and who's to say that games like these won't be on top again? I'll consider whether to post these articles in this journal or to create a new one dedicated strictly to topics of gaming.

In the meantime, I should update on what has gone on in my life since last post. I have finally purchased my first car! A little green Mazda that runs well and gets very good gas mileage. :) Now that it's late November, I'm going to start getting things together to apply for classes at my University, because I can't stand not being in school! So, things are getting better, and I'm a bit happier, now. Still, I would like to change jobs, because I don't like working in the food industry!!
