I'm getting settled into my new apartment and I'm seriously loving San Francisco. My neighborhood is amazing and there is a bus a block away that takes me anywhere else I want to go. I can't believe how nice the people are here! Friends of friends have been phoning me like mad, and my social calendar is filling up faster than it does at home! I've been giving tips out like mad to anyone who has brought me packages and I got the craziest letter today. A twenty dollar bill was mailed to me along with a note that said "Your tip was too generous. I would have given it back immediately, but I don't like being confrontational with women." Seriously surprising --- no one would EVER do that in NY. Even the customer service people at the electric and cable companies are courteous -- it's literally unreal!
The one exception to the kindness phenomenon is unfortunately my roommate. The dude is seriously lacking in manners! He has vacated the apartment for the past two months (Thank God), but thought it would be appropriate to leave old food in the sink, garbage, and fridge. Gross - the place SMELLED when I got here. I actually thought he was hot at first, but wow, what a turnoff!
In other bad news, I've been drinking too much, smoking excessively, and grossly overspending. Additionally, I lost my cell phone, my shipped items and packages appear to have disappeared in the mail, I currently have no ATM card nor means of attaining cash, and I have a hella cold. ('Hella', loosely translated as 'hell of a', is a catch phrase used everywhere here and I will be adopting it in my speaking and blogging.)
Anyhow, here, I feel like these minor stresses don't get me down. There is a stress free mentality in this part of the country that I am seriously feeling. It's great here, and I advise y'all to get your butts to SF and move down.
Admittedly, I haven't gotten laid yet, which is a serious bummer. Now, if that problem is not rectified ASAP, I will be majorly worried. Still, they do have the best vibrator selection in the country...
