My name is Cordelia Chase and you know, I never meant to get involved in all this. When I moved out of Sunnydale, I thought I had finally escaped all the monsters and vampires and weird things that go bump in the night. I was going to be an actress. [Pause.] Correction. I am going to be an actress.
But the thing is? Life doesn't always go the way we planned. Mine certainly didn't. I've been thrown into this life again and again and after a while, you figure it's not just coincidence anymore. There's gotta be a reason, a bigger picture, you know?
And there is. The bigger picture is that there are people suffering. People dying. People who are helpless. And I for one can't just let that go on. Maybe I could have once, but not now. Not after feeling there suffering first hand. As long as there's people in need, people who need help, I know I for one am going to keep fighting. Which is what anyone who can should do as well. Because if we don't stand up, if we don't defend the helpless, who will?
The answer is probably no one. Which sucks, let me tell you, but that's the way it is. Sometimes life sucks. And you can either bitch about it or do something about it.
