so no whining today... or at least in this post... stargate

I'm watching me some Stargate today... I had a hard time getting into the pilot for Atlantis (which I watched mostly because it seems that it will soon become unavailable on netflix's watch instantly- hopefully they'll work out a new deal and it will reappear in my queue).  I felt lost, so I stopped that and watched the pilot for Stargate SG-1, which I liked much better, even if the whole selection of hosts scenes felt very... rapey and scary.

I did finish Rising, but... I'm not sure.  Which series do you guys like better?  It seems like most people I run into online in fandom were in some type of SG fandom at some point, so I know y'all got some opinions!
