Elliot is a great source for stories and anecdotes. Take last night, for example...
We said a blessing on the food and once we were done, Elliot continued, adding something about thank God for the chicken and his biscuit. Then he turned to his Daddy and said, 'I'm soupin' up my prayer, Daddy!'
Also last night, after Elliot finished taking a bath, I was sitting in the living room, vegging in front of the TV when he comes tiptoeing around the corner, stark naked and dripping wet. Shivering, he said to me, 'Mommy. I'm clekid.' Clekid? I asked him what that was and he said, 'It means as wet as a fish.' I asked him if he had heard that word from someone else or made it up. 'I think I made it up,' he said.
He's having trouble adjusting to the new puppy. He gets very disturbed when she starts playing a bit aggressively and barking and nipping at him. His normal reaction is to stand there and cry.
Liam is well. He has stopped trying to walk, but enjoys cruising the furniture and insists that we pick him up and transport him where ever it is he wants to go. (He's often disappointed in this wish..) We thought he would need surgery on his big toes since he had ingrown toenails on both feet, but turns out he's fine. One of the toes had gotten infected, but drained itself and the other just grew on out. I was glad of this since I was very fearful of his having to get surgery.
Liam has a crush not only on his babysitter, RA, he also has a crush on Elliot's best friend's Mom, MA. MA loves playing with Liam since her youngest is Elliot's age and babies are really so much fun! Craig said Liam practically jumped out of the car trying to get to MA when Craig picked up Elliot yesterday.
Liam's reaction to the puppy has been mixed. He loves looking at her when we hold him or when he's in his high chair. He's not so found of her when they are on the same level and she's licking his face. Usually, he responds by lowering his head to the ground and crying. It's the same thing he does when he's told to stop doing something. Both of my boys are drama kings. They take after me, I guess!
My world has recently expanded with work on my high school reunion. We're coming up on our 20 year reunion and it's very exciting. I've never been a part of something quite so big and it's really neat. I love watching as things gain momentum and move forward so nicely. (I hope it continues to go smoothly!)
