Much of Israeli society is strongly self-critical, and where it isn't it's usually because people can ignore what's going on around them. I think putting cameras in the hands of people who're experiencing this kind of harassment is a great way of bringing the reality of the situation into the homes of Israelis so they can have an honest discussion about the government's policies. This openness to discuss is what might save Israel.
While some Palestinians might celebrate violence against Isralis the ones I met in the West Bank were simple farmers trying to raise their children to be successful. They weren't political at all, though I can see this kind of thing politicizing them. I hope this kid, who just saw his grandmother or some other close family member like that be beaten by thugs can grow up without revenge in his heart:
Normally this is a political issue for me. Today it's feeling pretty personal.
