1.What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Went to Japan, graduated college, lived by myself, voted for a winning president.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I won't make resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My sister-in-law had another daughter, Lyla.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Not that I know of.
5. What countries did you visit? Japan.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? More money. half a masters degree. Steady, healthy, happy, rewarding relationship. A ten out of ten day.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? December 13, when I graduated. July 23, when I had a fun evening.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Doing well in school, finishing school, not dying in another country where I knew none of the language.
9. What was your biggest failure? People stuff.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I had ungodly bad chest pains mid-semester, such that I had to take a few days off work.
11. What was the best thing you bought? I didn't really spend much on stuff.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Mine. This really was my year, and I will revel for a time.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Other peoples'. I don't want to list things, 'cause I want to keep the mood up.
14. Where did most of your money go? Rent. Bills..
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Finishing school, traveling, new friends.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008? "IYDKMIGTHTKY (Gimme That)" by Type O Negative.

i. happier or sadder? six of one, half dozen of another.
ii. thinner or fatter? scrawny as always.
iii. richer or poorer? poorer. substantially.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? I could have put more time in school, even if I did well. Writing. Being with my real friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying about the women. All of them.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent it with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008? I wanted to, on several different occasions. But naught came of any of it.
23. How many one-night stands? Nope.
24. What was your favorite TV program? The West Wing. Doctor Who. Torchwood. Spaced.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Yes.
26. What was the best book you read? I read mostly for school this year. Hamlet was good in this context, I suppose, as was 1 Henry IV. I also reread a lot of stuff. Not much new reading, to be honest.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? California, by Mr. Bungle.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? In theatres, The Dark Knight. On DVD, 3-Iron, Cashback, Jarhead, No Country for Old Men.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I got over twenty people to come to dinner with me, and had an awesome time. I was 24.
32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Stability. Honesty. Lack of hypocracy.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Grey, but branching out with other colors.
34. What kept you sane? Music, books, close friends.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Not really a winner this year.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The election. that about covered everything.
37. Who did you miss? People who moved away, largely in the fall.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Some of my Algebra folk. Kristin.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008: Too often, people will do what is necessary before what is right.
