Still trying to get theGoldenKey (my win10 pro laptop) up to full speed. Tried to install some antimalware so I can finally feel safe going online. Doesn't install. Of course.
I spent the better part of the day seeking assistance from Eset tech support, or completing errands to convince them of what I already knew- Eset Internet Security flat out won't install and doesn't even give an error code to help explain why. Now they want me to run a diagnostic with Wireshark. Even though I'm using an offline installer (oh I tried the online installer too, but I get the same error either way). But I'll do it because they said they'll escalate me if I provide the with the output.
ANYWAY. It took me a lot of fiddling to even get Wireshark running. Apparently the installable binary doesn't like something on my computer and won't run, and their "portable" version still needs to be installed a little bit? I was able get it running, but not working exactly as it wants me to install additional software before it'll monitor the network interface. *sigh*
