TVD S4 Thoughts

So, I haven’t written about TVD since the winter hiatus. There’s been some stuff that I wanted to discuss before it’s obsolete. Most of this is just stuff that’s been bothering me or pure speculation (no concrete spoilers for future episodes- maybe a few vague ones from the book, which I haven’t actually read tbh, but the book’s not the show, so ( Read more... )

Just a few seasons ago, Damon was all “I miss it more than anything in the world!” regarding his humanity. In weird TVD timeline, that occurred less than a year ago. I’m sorry, I just do NOT believe that a vampire who’s lived over a hundred years is suddenly going to change his mind over a huge decision like his humanity. I know he made some comment acknowledging that he recently felt differently, but c’mon, really?! Also, just from a logical standpoint, WHY would you not take the cure? If there’s no repercussions and enough to go around (which I find very unlikely, but hey, this is a hypothetical scenario) why would you not take the cure? I mean, you can always be turned back into a vampire, but there aren’t exactly cures for vampirism hopping off shelves.

First off, I don't think he's changed his mind, I think that despite how much he loves Elena and trusts her overall, he doesn't trust her with his heart. And that makes perfect sense given his overall history and his history with her. Like everyone and their dog (except for Elena), Damon is absolutely convinced that once Elena becomes human, she'll run back to Stefan. Therefore, he's beginning to strengthen the walls around his heart for when it happens.

As for just becoming a vampire again, yet, he becomes a vampire again, but he also becomes a newbie vampire, losing a lot of the power and strength he has... and Damon has made a lot of enemies who now would be a lot stronger.

I just think that there is a lot psychologically going on in Damon's mind right now and a lot of it revolves around not only thinking he doesn't deserve it (which Elena rightly called him on), but also that Stefan DOES deserve it. All of that ties together.

Makes sense to me. :shrugs:

And, yeah, I'm thinking Damon's gonna die and the reaction I most look forward to is Stefan's. Uh huh. (And, of course, Damon won't stay dead, so I'm fine with it. It's all about the fall-out.)
