there are some things that i will always think are just awesome.  kraft mac and cheese.  black licorice.  lemmings.  my cabin.  and, especially, songs with absurdist lyrics.  martha in particular always knows how to find a song i will like by finding something off-beat and sometimes clever.  over the years, she has brought me mix cd after mix cd

on this very subject you'll be so proud of me - i just bought (exactly 13 seconds after they went on sale) two two-day passes to the decemberists when they play in november. this means that as of early september, i have three indy rock concerts lined up for november - tegan and sara, the decemberists "the long of it", and the decemberists "the short of it." since you introduced me to both, you should be maternally gleeful. since i'm known at work (no joke) as the one with "hip indy rock taste" (a description just reiterated by a somewhat senior guy here, with a shake of his head, when i interrupted our discussion to feverishly click refresh on my browser), you should pity the lameless of the banking world, you know, like more than you do already.
