it appears Facing New York is back in action? seriously i'm so excited right now i'm crying a little. and i think the only reason the tears stopped building up before it became full-fledged is because my brain got all plan-y and it made the emotions slow down. wow

With a body built on growling, hard-hitting, straight-up rock, and incorporating elements of pop, operatic vocals, haunting piano accompanyment, celtic lilts, tibetan bowls, and scratchy voice-over samples, Dredg at times embodies the energy of punkrock and still posesses the powerful, graceful makings of a movie score. Only The Mars Volta, it seems, can compare in terms of the abandon with which these men create. This band has such a unique soul and style that one can't honestly put walls up around them. And perhaps that is a good thing.
i don't know The Mars Volta's music either (though i seem to remember a lot of Matches fans being super into them), but i'm thinking maybe this is not the same band you didn't dig. i dunno. i'm gonna check them out but i'm still obsessing over show tickets so i haven't gotten to that step yet. :P

yeah, and the place itself is so beautiful, whereas slim's is just a big cold square and the stage is too high. gamh is one of my favorite venues. <3
