Not quite new years poker! Friday December 30th, 6pm

Dec 21, 2005 10:17

In case this reaches anyone here that I forgot to email already:

I'm not sure how many people will be around, but I've determined that it's enough for at least one table worth of poker, so it's on! Someone recently challenged me about the merits of barbecuing even though it's winter, so we'll start at 6ish with some sort of barbecue of some frozen Omaha steaks I got for my birthday. This will be supplemented with other foodstuffs of an appropriate or inappropriate nature depending on whether I get to the store and how hungry I am when I'm there. :-) Worst case, we'll supplement with pizza or whatever we can order. Feel free to bring tasty snack or beverage items, especially of a salad or other healthier nature, i.e. such as would not likely be sitting around my apartment in an unspoiled condition. :-)

Then we'll play poker! Probably dime to quarter ante, as many tables as necessary, dealer calls the game, so it'll range from straight texas hold-em, to 9 card- draw 7- spades wild etc., whatever people are in the mood to play, the more we drink, the weirder the games will get. :-) Also maybe a mini-texas holdem tournament if people are interested. Expect to hear the phrase "your nickel is weak!" at at least some point during the evening. :-)

RSVP if convenient so I can plan food appropriately. Feel free to invite friends. Hope to see you all soon!

Dave
