Exciting sights at Stourbridge Library!

No, honestly. I was there today and saw not one but two unexpected things! First, in the leaflet rack just outside the main library I discovered this. It's the back of a beer mat, but the design is the interesting thing: it's the work of the Ghostwriter, a mysterious artist who's been leaving these calling cards all over the West Midlands for more than half a century, since the death of Mario Lanza. I was very tempted to take it home, but instead I left it there for others to discover.

As if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, actually in the library I was somewhat startled to see this. Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, which controls Stourbridge Library, has long been extremely unhelpful when it comes to plugging in laptops and such. Until very recently, it was a case of "nothing doing", even as other local authorities became much more relaxed about it. There's obviously been a real change of heart, though, and the evidence is below!
