Because even while I just want to teach Pop Culture until the end of my days, I think it is maybe more important for me to do ethnic studies/American studies stuff, because I can actually teach about globalization and counternarratives and fucked up systems of oppression! Which I can sort of work into media studies too, definitely, but not in the same way :|

Which is not to say they don't intersect, they totally do, but I don't feel justified enough in doing a program like CMS when I could do Ethnic Studies at Berkeley or HISTORY OF CONSCIOUSNESS!! or something like that.

I would love to, one of my best friends lives there and if I had to move somewhere else, I would like to move elsewhere on the west coast! If I ever do get my PhD it will probably be in the bay area. Though my dreams are still filled with the Annenberg School at USC and UPenn and god, CMS! But. I digress.
