Final post tonight, I swear.
For one, maybe "Reptiles" won't get done this weekend- my laptop crashed halfway through the most recent scene, leaving me with only the first two paragraphs of that bit (which is precisely the 50,000 mark.) It wasn't all that much, I'm sure- 300, 400 words, tops- but stuff like that is kinda disheartening and took the wind out of my sails for the night. And considering I have a date with a soda shopMegan tomorrow, and craziness with old friends after that, I doubt I'll have any time to write until after Ptolus. Maybe if I get up early enough tomorrow, but Jesus, it's Saturday. I think getting up before 11:00 is against the law.
Secondly, I find it strange that I knowingly or not spent my entire last summer in Saint Louis looking for something and not finding it, but have then found it by chance every time I've returned since then. It's odd, and makes me fairly sure that life is the originator of all literary devices.
Finished On Writing, nearly done with Fragile Things. Sometimes I wish I'd brought Escaping the Delta, but most of the time I'm glad I left everything connected to school back in Kirksville.
It's been a very good (and pretty productive) break, but I miss my giant, comfortable bed back home, and my gigantic, imposing desk. Currently, I am sitting on the edge of my bed, typing this on a laptop missing several buttons, and which is currently situated on my computer chair because I have no better place to set it. Like I said, it'll be good to be back at home. (I'm thinking I might come up to Kirksville once over the Christmas break, when nobody is around, and just write and read and not deal with any kind of human contact. Except possibly a pizza guy. Even then, I may just slip him a twenty through the mail slot and ask him to leave the pizza on the stoop.)
