back to the mothership
I thought i'd take a break from my book to make a spot of tea. I'm to that point in the book where i'm clearly not going to be able to call it a night, but i've still got a hundred pages left and my eyes were fading. soooo i got a couple of my wishes today! i met up with olia after work today for some STARBUCKS ACTION. as much as i mock it, i miss it! i miss our sunday morning coffee dates....tuesday night coffee dates....crisis control coffee dates...."LAURA. I JUST HUNG OUT WITH RYAN. WHERE THE F*** ARE YOU. we're at starbucks. you should probably get down here. bye." i miss that! but only because we knew that one would end happily.
So it's Olia's birthday tomorrow. Today technically. And we spent 3 hours in the Starbucks parking lot because her key wouldn't go into her ignition. After about two hours of jimmying i finally got it in, but couldn't rev the engine. Ahem. So we determined something had broken inside and messed with the tumbler/switch. Another starbucks drink later, the tow truck finally arrived. The driver was unable to rescue the Saturn because of the car parked in front of it. so we waited. and waited. all of the spots around us emptied, except that little red car staring down our nose. *whistling*. We eventually just gave her key to the tow truck guy and went home. Sure hope he was really a tow truck driver. Either way...birthday's eh? Always full of surprises.

And in a little while she'll be rounding that corner on three wheels

good god i swear, can't take her anywhere
