I am so ridiculously excited :D Just trying to find a good place to watch, there are loads just picking one that I can deal with for the couple hours leading up to the game.....
I'm having the opposite problem, there are just too many places where you can watch. I'm gonna watch Saturday's game live in the stadium, but afterwards...There's the cinema, with free entrance and good air conditioning, the old ice-hockey stadium where there's supposed to be a great atmosphere, the pub where we usually watch Bundesliga, the restaurant where you can eat Schnitzel or Kässpätzle while watching, all the places that are outside, ordering pizza and watching it at home....At this rate Germany needs to at least reach the final for us to go to each of these places.
Most of the places I've called, one of which was on a site that lists bars which play matches, kind of seemed like they had no idea what the Euros were (one being the bar off the only German restaurant in the city), but said if they got the channel they could put it on the TV for me. I'd rather watch it at home alone than in a bar alone. I have at least one place that apparently a bunch of Seattle Sounders fans frequent to watch games (I am 5 hours away from Seattle). It seems like my best bet.
lol. it probably is. Seattle has a few bars where you should be able to watch. Have you checked any Mexican restaurants in your area? I know it is Euros, but a lot of times they will play the games if they are available with their packages. It is what I used to do if I was too lazy to head downtown (moving back to the area in a couple months). In my experience, the staff is super happy to do this. I even have had discussions with the waitstaff and the those working in the kitchen.
I have access to the games on my laptop through ESPN3.com so I'm basically just trying to find a place with other football fans actively watching/cheering/creating atmosphere. I'd rather watch at home on my laptop than be one of a few people at a bar to watch the game.
I'm stuck in Spokane, WA and not Seattle. If I were on the other side of the mountains I don't think I'd have a problem finding a place. I'd even be willing to drive down to Portland for it if Seattle came up empty.
I assumed most of the places that said they'd put it on for me would have no issues regarding the channels, but the whole reason I want to go out is for the atmosphere. It seems a bit pointless to go to a bar all decked out and ready to support Germany if no one else is there to watch the game. I'd be able to do that at home.
I might have just been spoiled for the World Cup because I was in Southern California and went to a German area in Huntington Beach for all of Germany's matches. The atmosphere was amazing, the breakfast was good, and the beer was tasty (they were able to start serving it at 6:30am).
I'm stuck in Spokane, WA for another year (I grew up in the Olympia area).

Good luck finding something and hope the day is lovely for you! I wonder if an all call for meet-ups here might be in order?
