Not so new local team...been a Leverkusen resident for two years now (before that Cologne), but I'm Werder green-white by birthright, always have been, so... Today is special. Werder playing Leverkusen right on my doorstep.

Still missing Miro in the Werder jersey after all these years...but it can't be helped. As long as he's happy with Lazio now....

if I remember correctly, then Werder didn't want and need to sell Klose 2007.
He had his contract till summer 2008.
And then the f***ing Bayern came and wanted Klose to a really low price.
So the management of Werder said "No", especially not to Bayern because being a direct concurrent.
And then there were also not so secret "secret meetings" between Klose and Hoeneß. Before that everybody at Werder loved him and then this backstabbing.
For me and my Werder Bremen friends he still remained a backstabbing bastard when it comes to this transfer...
but that was a long time ago...
