I just saw this and thought you guys would be interested as well...I've done a Chinese to English tranlation, but the original source is apparently Bild. My German is very rubbish, and I don't know how good the Chinese translation was, so those of you who know German, please feel free to point out things I've got wrong. ^^
Neuer: I Know the Guy Who Slapped Me!
The guy in black wearing a baseball cap is the one who slapped Neuer.
Last Sunday when Schalke was celebrating in the streets, goalkeeper Neuer was suddenly slapped. Talking about it for the first time afterwards, he says that he knows the guy who hit him.
"I know that guy, he's my buddy Kurulla's friend. Kurulla and I played football together when we were young, he was also a goalkeeper. Obviously his friend used to be a fan of mine, and I would, from time to time, give my gloves and shirt to him through Kurulla. I always tried my best to meet his requests."
Ever since Neuer announced that he would not extend his contract, this guy's love for Neuer turned into hate. "In the past few weeks he would sometimes come to our training ground, and then he would verbally abuse and shame me, saying stuff like 'dogshit Bayern', but at the time I didn't take it seriously," Neuer said.
Neuer remembers what happened very clearly. "When I saw him by the road, I immediately recognized him. He seemed very much on the attack and was using the worst insults on me. I wanted to calm him down so as to avoid the situation brimming over. So I attempted to pat his cheek, telling him, 'Friend, there's no need for this nonsense. It's good right now, we've won the Pokal, let's celebrate together!' And then he slapped me." Neuer doesn't plan to press charges. "To me, this is in the past."
The substitute goalkeeper who was at Neuer's side when this happened, Schober, describes his own reaction. "Manuel was completely shocked at the time. He said to me, 'He just slapped me.'"
