Germany to meet Australia in 2011 friendly
Germany will play a football friendly against Australia in March 2011, the German football federation DFB said on Thursday.
The March 29, 2011, game will be played in Moenchengladbach and coach Joachim Loew said in the DFB statement he plans to give some youngsters a chance to play.
The game comes four days after a Euro 2012 qualifier against Kazakhstan and completes the national team calendar for 2011. Germany play six Euro qualifiers and four friendlies next year.
Germany and Australia last met at the World Cup in South Africa, with the Germans winning 4-0 en route to a third-place finish. Australia are now coached by German Holger Osieck.
