Staining thieves
This lock design uses an ink like Smartwater to stain a thief when they cut a bike lock. Smartwater tags whatever it touches with a unique stain that can be traced back to the registered owner - seems to be popular in the UK and is gaining ground in the US.
Me being paranoid about security, I'd tag everything I own with this stuff if I knew that local law enforcement would be keen to look for this kind of stain. Perhaps unlose.it or NBR in the meantime?
