Last night I picked back up watching Babylon 5. I'm a little past midway through season 4 and
God it's good to see Delenn being badass and awesome, not simply holy, supporting, loving, and otherwise womanly, again. I don't hate Delenn/Sheridan but I do feel like it tends to down play her awesome and just how impressive she is. For Sheridan she is soft and supportive and it is easy to forget, as he does, that she is a powerful leader in her own right. Also I just loved a lot how Delenn gave the Mimbari their Groove Back (coda to the breaking of the Grey Council... aka: How Delenn Got Her Groove Back). I loved the Starfury concept and even more I loved the way Delenn put the Council back together. She gave the power to The People. The show had previously led the viewer to forget them just as the Warrior and Religious castes did, but you cannot have a people of intellectuals and soldiers; someone has to grow the food and make the clothes. And the Religious Caste obviously had their hands just as dirty as the Warrior Caste in some ways, they are the privileged; they think too much of theory and not enough of reality. Delenn healed what Sinclair could only bandage. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I felt so uplifted. .
In other news, Saturday
sophia_helix and I were shopping in opposite directions so I had to advise by camera phone. I kid you not. The best part was when I typed a response about my love of the pattern for this dress she had sent a picture of herself in, and I discovered that while I was doing so she has sent a comment about the exact same facet of the dress. Shared brain, FTW.
