in music

so I have a lot of thoughts, but most will have to wait for another time...

Last week I saw Our Lady Peace for the first time in concert. They played a short set which was kind of disappointing yet they were amazing and it gave me a taste of what I had been missing. I have not listened to them in so long and I started to wonder why. I realized that my music changes when I change...stating the obvious, but I've never really thought about it that way before.

Then I began reminiscing about the past and I found that OLP brought back a lot of memories. Some high school escapades that seemed insignificant at the time, but mean so much now and vice versa. It reminded me of summer adventures and summer loves. Shaggy-haired boys, baseball fields, the Corsica, the tigers and 18 innings, the stakeout driveway, feeling independent, slushies, and all that was friends+port huron+summer...etc. Those were the times when we felt so old, and had no idea how immature we actually were!! Oh the good ole days.

So yea, the phases of my life can be defined by my playlists. Its kind of nice that way, especially when I'm pleasantly surprised with a memory. Ok enough nostalgia for tonight.
