I've managed to speak with the Big Boss yesterday, and after i broke to him the news, he was rather calm and reflective. He shared with me that he was really glad that I am taking a pro-active stance in furthering my career, and that he felt very confident that I am ready to level up and pursue a leadership position. I felt a twang in my heart when I left his office.

"I just want you to know that you are well regarded in my eyes, and that your request doesn't do anything to diminish that."

Yes, in many ways, I am still luckier than most.
