Seasons Change

Silently with delayed notice darken the shrinking days.
So creeps autumn ending summer's play.

Swift swirling winds caress rustic trees.
Stealing their restless misguided leaves.

Tangled naked branches lament their loss.
While earth purrs cuddled beneath a patchwork of leaves, lichen, and moss.
