Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, you fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.

Here's a very interesting notion I came across while skimming through the time management section in The Nerdist Way:

Spend one day with no internet and see if you feel a difference in the length of the day. )

It does, frequently, fuck up more than ones' sense of time. My own best friend spent the better part of the last six months addicted to that soul-sucking morass known as World of Warcraft, and he was nigh impossible to get ahold of. Any time spent potentially hanging out had to be CAREFULLY scheduled around his precious fucking WoW time, and most of the times when it was convenient for us to hang out, it was the polar opposite for him. Now, he's enrolled in college and is learning how to better manage his time, and he's learning that real life is MUCH more interesting than his internet time. We had a great talk about this on Monday, and he's VERY irritated with his internet people (specifically, one annoying motherfucker who chastised him for having the gall to get up and get away from his computer to take a piss....the guy LITERALLY suggested that he should have an empty Gatorade bottle around for such things, so he wouldn't miss time on the raid ( ... )
