So, I'm WAY the fuck in the blu-ray camp right now.
Granted, I haven't had this thing for very long, and I only have nine movies for it. The Star Wars box set that came out recently, and the extended Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Oh, and one Rush live concert.
I've spent a rather....stunted, for lack of a better word, period checking this thing out. I haven't even watched any of the Star Wars flicks yet, save for the very controversial new bit in Return of the Jedi (because I just had to see that for myself and giggle before I turned on AutoIgnore) and the bonus discs (which, really, are all I wanted to see, I'll get to the movies next year). So, I decided to start with Lord of the Rings, because I haven't watched those in a while, and they're pretty enough to want to be worthwhile.
Holy fuck. Awesome. Breathtaking. Seriously. These flicks look BEAUTIFUL.
So, perhaps I'll check out the Star Wars flicks. And then I'll think about which ones I want to replace with blu-rays. Batman (Nolan Batman, mind you...still debating whether or not to replace the Burton ones), Blade Runner, and Star Trek are pretty high on the list as well. And DEFINITELY The Fifth Element. Say what you want about that movie, but it does look seriously fucking COOL.
Other flicks....not so much. As much as I love them, I just don't really see the merit in replacing flicks like Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Forrest Gump, or Silence of the Lambs with versions that offer little more than hyper-clear picture quality.
Might definitely replace some of the music ones, though.
Okay, enough of my rambling. Aloha, peoples. :)
