Family Ties : Additional Chapter
by Amity

Wordcount: 4954
Rating: PG13
Pairing: Joe(OMC)/Monte (OFC) (Within the Supernatural world)
Feedback: Hell yea! I didn’t post this thing for my health.
Disclaimer: I don't own a damn thing.
Monte's Note: One of my buddies, the amazing Amity wrote this for me...the genius is all hers. (Her personal A/N is below) It's a bonus chapter she wrote for me based of her own fic (Family Ties)

Author’s Note:
As promised, this is my additional chapter for Monte. It seems She fell head over heals for my character Joe, and got all ‘pout’ when I finished up the Fic.

So, I’ve tried to keep my own writing style and flow (which I know is sucky, but I am just a beginner!) and PG status (well kinda!) as the rest of the Fic because I have included this chapter as an addition, not a separate Fic.

I hope I have done justice to the ‘character’ Monte, but because I don’t personally know her, I have to say any character thoughts or wrong doings are all mine! Ok so that’s my little disclaimer!

Additional Chapter for Monte:

She usually didn’t mind driving. Actually she seemed to have the opposite problem; people usually had to pry her out of her car. Today however, she was tired. Driving through this crap whole of a town wasn’t her idea, but road works forced her hand. She rolled her eyes as she come to the conclusion that she should stop, spying an open sign for the local bar. She pulled her car into the vacant parking lot, deciding to have a very short break, and then continuing the long drive ahead of her.

She was quiet surprised when she opened the door to the bar and found it to be empty, completely empty. Ok, so maybe she was the only one in the town that felt like drinking in the middle of the day, but there was no one having lunch, no one playing pool and no one sitting down enjoying a chat with some random stranger. The only person in the whole place seemed to be the man standing behind the bar. She raised an eyebrow, he did look interesting though, and the sign did say open. She walked over to the bar and sat on a stool in front of him.

He looked up at her, “What will you have?”

She smiled at him, “Why don’t you surprise me?” She looked him up and down and absolutely liked what she saw.

He raised an unimpressed eyebrow at her. He placed a shot glass on the bar in front of her, filled it with whiskey, and placed an olive on a toothpick into the liquid. He returned the bottle of whiskey to the shelf with the other bottles of spirits, turned around and smile at her, “Surprise!”

“Well aren’t you just a smart ass?” Smiling wickedly at him, she popped the olive into her mouth. She offered her outstretched hand to him, “I’m Monte.”

“Joe” he nodded towards her shot of whiskey, “Drink up, I’m closing up soon.”

She frowned and looked at her watch, and then at him with a puzzled look upon her face.

“Well, if you can’t tell,” he said pointing towards the empty Bar, “this place is dead, and I have a car out the back that I would rather be working on.”

Her eyes widened at the mention of the car, “He puts olives in whiskey and he works on cars too, now my interest is peaked! What sort of car?”

“It’s a Ute actually.”

“A Ute, what sort?

“A Holden SS Thunder.”

“Australian, nice! Hard or Soft Back?”

It was his turn for his interests to be peaked. It was obvious that this woman in front of him certainly knew her cars. “Hard Back.”

“Oh real nice!” She paused, “I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours?!”

She saw him lick his bottom lip with the tip of his tongue, “What are you running?”

She stared straight at him, “A 1970 Monte Carlo, hence the name!” She could tell instantly that he was impressed.

“Are you telling me that there is a 1970 Monte Carlo sitting out in my parking lot?

She smiled at him wickedly once again, “Yep!”

He shook his head at her, “Well aren’t you just a dream come true!”

“Oh I like think so!”

He stared at her for a little, “Yeah, ok, come on.” He walked to the back door, holding it open for her. He unlocked his workshop, sliding open the wooden doors.

Monte stood in the door’s opening, wide eyed, staring at the Ute in front of her, “Lord have Mersey on my soul!” She paced around the Ute, running her fingers over the black paint job that was obviously recently done. “Nice choice of color Joe.”

“Is there any other color to paint a Ute?”

She looked up at him, smiling, “Hell is there any other color to paint any car?”

She continued her examination of the Ute, “260 kW, 6.0 Litre, Generation 4, Alloy V8 Engine, hey, did you know that they specifically chose alloy for the engine because it creates a smoother ride because there’s less weight in the front?” She didn’t wait for an answer. “510 @ 4400 rpm torque, glad to see you choose the 6 speed manual transmission instead of automatic, it’s got a free flowing exhaust system, 17 inch alloy wheels, a turning circle of 11.5 metres and a sweet ground clearance of only 105 millimetres.” She took a deep breath and looked up at him.

“Wow, you sure do know your cars, don’t you? All that information, and in Australian measurements, I’m officially impressed.”

“Well what can I say, it’s an Australian Ute, so you have to talk the talk! And I am the one who is officially impressed, she is a beauty Joe!” She smiled at him with admiration. She suddenly frowned but because there was something else present on his face, but she wasn’t quiet sure what it was. “You’re not doing her up for yourself, are you?”

He smiled at her enthusiasm and her wit, “No, it’s for Frankie.”

Monte frowned at him, “Frankie?”

“She’s kind of like a daughter to me and it’s her birthday in a couple of day, and she needs a car. You see…she had this guy, you’d probably crash tackle him, he has a 1967 Impala! Anyway, something happened and she told him to nick off, and he did.”

“Wait, she left a guy who drives a 1967 Impala. How?

He laughed, “She says she’s got her reasons.”

“But you don’t think her reasons are good enough.”

“No I don’t, she miserable, so, that’s why I’m doing this up for her, so she can go get him back.” He shrugged just a little.

“Ah, so you’re a romantic Joe!” She looked at him, meeting his eyes.

She blinked and then smiled at him, knowing that he was having the same reaction to her as she was to him, some sort of connection was being felt. But then she saw him deliberately reject the idea and she let out a sigh of disappointment.

He stood up, walk over to his work bench, leaning up against it, “Ah…so, what are you doing in this little backwater of a town I like to call home anyway?”

She smiled at his lame attempt to change the subject, but decided to let him think he was successful, “I actually got diverted by road works. I’m on my way to Texas to visit a good friend of mine, and I was getting tired, thought I would pull over for a break.”

“Texas? Shit, that’s a bit of a drive isn’t it?”

She shrugged, “Yeah, but when you have a beast like that,” she pointed to the Monte Carlo parked in the lot, “it really isn’t a chore!”

He smiled and nodded at her with understanding, “How about you show me this beast of yours?”

Joe’s reaction to the Monte Carlo was almost exactly the same as Monte’s had been to the Ute. He ran his fingers over the pristine paint job that had certainly been maintained, examining every detail of the car in front of him.

“Ah the Monte Carlo, the brainchild of Elliot ‘Pete’ Estes, General Manager of Chevrolet, and Chevrolet’s Chief Stylist, Dave Holls.”

Monte smiled, “Yes, but did you know that it was officially introduced by John Z. DeLorean, who succeeded Estes as General Manager?”

“Well yes Monte I did know that, but did you know that the bulges in the fenders were introduced to create a more muscular appearance, specifically to tempt young men to buy one of these beauties?”

She rolled her eyes, “Of course I knew that, but ‘bulges’ don’t stop the female of the human species wanting one too!” She raised an eyebrow and smiled sweetly at him.

He laughed at her, “Are you going to pop the hood and let me check out her engine or what?”

She raised an eyebrow, “Oh, I don’t know if you can handle that much excitement in one day Joe, might leave that for another time hey?”

“What, are you kidding me?” He looked at her in shock.

She smiled sarcastically, “Fine, if you can tell me what I’m running under the hood, you can have a peak.”

“Tease!” but he took up the challenge. “Engine, standard or optional extra?”

She raised her head to meet his challenge, “Well, let’s just say I’m a traditional kinda girl.”

He smiles and nodded his head, “Well in that case, I’m going with a standard powertrain of 350 in3, 5.7 litres for those of us to use Australian measurements, she will have a ‘Turbo-fire’ small-block V8 engine with a two-barrel carburetor, which is rated at 250 hp @ 4500 rpm and torque of 345 ft.lb @ 2800 rpm. All of that mated with a Turbo Hydramatic 350 Transmission.” He looked up at her with a giant grin of his face, “So, did I pass?”

She laughed, “Yeah, I reckon that will do.” She lent in the car and popped the hood, seeing him instantly attack the engine with his eyes. Both of them seemed to be in absolute heaven.

She continued to watch him examine her car. He stood up and she saw his eyes follow the line of the car’s body once more. She let her eyes follow the lines of his body. She slightly blushed when he turned and saw her checking him out.

She uneasily smiled at him, feeling the awkward silence building between them, neither knowing what else to say.

“Well Joe, been real good talking with you, but I should go and find someplace to sleep tonight…know any good motels?”

He laughed, “None that don’t smell like cat piss!”

She groaned, “Great! Looks like it’s a car sleep tonight.” She rolled her eyes, knowing that her back seat was nice, but not all that comfortable for sleeping on.

Joe slightly winced, not sure if she was a bundle of trouble or not, but decided that he should at least offer, “I have a spare room that I rent out to people who have had one too many, it’s yours if you want it.”

She raised an eyebrow at his suggestion and was about to smirk at him but thought better of it, “How much?”

“Um, let’s see…how about you can have it for free if you help me with the Ute? I am kind of running out of time and I still have a couple of days work on her to do. So, what do you think?”

“Hmm, I might have to take you up on that Joe.”

“Great. Well, get your stuff, and I’ll show you around. If you’re lucky I might even shout you a drink, and without an olive this time.”

She laughed, “Now don’t get too carried away there Joe, I might get used to your hospitality and never leave!”

He smiled and shook his head, “Come on.” He walked towards the back door, into the Bar. She grabbed her bag from the trunk and followed him.

She watched Joe relax in his chair at one of the tables in the bar, stretching his legs out onto a nearby chair. She took a swig of the beer in front of her, wiping the condensation off the bottle when she placed in back on the table.

Joe was watching her, “So, what got you into cars?”

She could see that he was relaxed, and that the question wasn’t meant as a ‘How’s the weather?’ question, but that he was genuinely interested. She smiled, “What, there has to be one defining moment?”

“No, it’s just that, well…” How was he supposed to ask what he wanted to ask without insulting her?

Monte helped him out, “I’m a girl?”

He smiled, “Well yeah.”

She knew she couldn’t let him get away with that one, well too easy, “Oh so you did notice Joe?”

He raised an eyebrow at her, “Just tell me!”

She frowned and then slightly smiled, her way of teasing him just a little, “Fine! There wasn’t one defining moment; I always have liked cars, anything that roars like it’s alive.” She paused, “And yes, girls can like cars by the way, it’s allowed. You know, I know this chick in Australia that has her own workshop, oh and I love this, she refuses to work on any car that was made post-1985! What’s that thing she’s always saying, ‘classic, not plastic’! She also has three Utes, none of which she lets anyone else drive or work one, one of which she put together herself from scratch. She’d probably would crash tackle you, for having a Holden Ute sitting out the back too! And you sure as hell know my extensive knowledge.”

He held up his hands in defeat, “Ok, I’m sorry about the girl comment, I surrender!”

She nodded with a smile, “Good!”

They continued to talk and laugh about everything and anything, both having a genuine good time. When he stood up and walked to the bar to get another couple of drinks, she looked around the bar, smiling at the relaxed feel about the place. That was until she spied a window, noticing that it was dark outside, time had flown. He put another beer in front of her and relaxed once again back into his chair.

“Joe, it’s getting pretty late, don’t you need to open up the bar?”

He frowned and looked at his watch, “Nah, I’m having too much fun talking with you!” He smiled at her, but then frowned when he was met with a frown of confusion. “During the week, not many people drink around here at night time. Usually it’s only Frankie that comes in, and well, she’s pretty good at picking locks, letting herself in and helping herself to whatever she feels like at the time, so nothing to worry about, ok? I’m not loosing business because you’re here. But your right, it’s getting late, so how about I show you where your room is and you can get settled in?”

She smiled, “Ah it’s still early, how about we finish these first?” She raised her bottle of beer and slightly clinked the glass to his bottle.

At the top of the stairs he stopped and pointed towards the end of the hallway, “Down the end there is the bathroom, but this” he opened the first door he came to, “will be your room.” He entered the room, dropping her bag beside the bed, moving towards the only cupboard in the room, “There are extra blankets in here if you need them, but apart from that…” He turned around to be face to face with her.

She smiled and raised herself up on her tippy-toes, and kissed him. Usually she would have waited for him to make the first move, but something told her that she would be waiting for a while if she did. His reaction told her that she was right.

Joe gently pushed her away from him, running a hand over his face with a sigh, “Monte, I’m having a real good time with you, but anything else, I’m sorry I can’t, I’m…”

She half heartedly smiled with disappointment, “You’re married?”

Joes let out a slight laugh, “No Monte, I’m not married, or even seeing anyone.”

She was confused, “Then I’m getting things mixed up here and you don’t feel the same way as me?”

Joe put his hand over his mouth, still wet from her kiss, “I feel the same way, trust me. You’re like a gift from god.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

He let out a deep breath, “I’m too old for you Monte…”

She smiled, so that’s what was bothering him? He wasn’t that old, she put her hand up to her ear, “What? I’m sorry, all I heard was ‘I have a whole load of experience!”

“Monte…?” He frowned and shook his head.

“Joe, I’m not some little girl that has no idea what she’s doing. I can make up my own mind about things, and I’ve made up my mind.”

“But…”

She interrupted him once more, “But nothing. Joe, get your ass over here and kiss me, or I’m walking out of here and never coming back!” She raised her eyebrow in a challenge, and smiled when she saw his face falter and him move towards her.

He put his hand on her cheek, moving it around to the back of her neck, he looked into her eyes, and she saw him slightly falter once more. She smiled to reassure him, and felt him move slightly as he lent tenderly down and kissed her. He drew her body closer to him as his kiss became more forceful, each needing more contact then they previously had.

She moved, gently pulling him towards the bed. However, before she could pull him down on top of her, he broke away from her.

“I’m sorry, I can’t” he managed to get out before he hurriedly walked out of the bedroom.

She followed him and found him in the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face and then gripping the sides of the sink with tight, white knuckled force.

She lent back against the bathroom wall, watching him. “What is it Joe, what’s going on?”

He stood up and ran a hand over his wet face, “Monte, I’m sorry, it’s just I haven’t been with a woman for a very long time…” He let out a deep sigh, shaking his head.

Monte smiled at him, “It’s kinda like riding a bike Joe, you don’t forget.”

He slightly laughed and smiled at her, “Trust me; it’s not that, it’s...” He frowned, how did he put this? “I don’t have any protection.”

She smiled and walked over to where he was, raising an eyebrow at him, “Is that all that’s bothering you?”

He was startled by her reaction, “Isn’t that enough?!”

She grinned at him, walked out of the bathroom, and returned within a minute. She held up a packet of condoms, “Didn’t I tell you Joe? I always wanted to be a Scout!”

He grabbed her and kissed her with so much force that she was slammed back against the bathroom wall. She smiled as she kissed him, moving towards the doorway, and out towards her room.

He stopped her, “Oh no,” he smiled as he nipped at her bottom lip, “my room, bigger bed!”

Her eyes fluttered open as she reached across the bed, only to find it empty. She frowned, and opened her eyes fully, smiling when she heard movement near the doorway. She turned over, frowning when she saw that he was dressed, with overalls tied loosely around his waist.

He smiled and walked over to her, kissing her, “Morning beautiful, how do you feel?” his husky morning voice sounding so good to her.

“Hmm…horny!” She grabbed the arms of his overalls, smiling wickedly as she pulled him towards her. He knelt on the bed covering her in kisses before he groaned and pulled away from her.

“Monte, do you know how hard it is to work on a car all day long, when you have a hard on?”

She raised an eyebrow at him and licked her lips, “Do you know how hard it is to work on a car all day long when you’re wet?” She pulled him towards her more forcefully.

He gave into her way too easily, “Maybe we should do something about it then.”

“My thoughts exactly!”

She snuggled up to Joe’s chest, breathing in his scent. She looked up at him, smiling when she saw him smiling down at her. She propped herself up off his chest just enough to kiss him, before returning to the feel of his skin. “Hey Joe, are you comfy?”

He smiled to himself, “Mmm, I sure as hell am, why?”

She laughed, pulling the blanket that covered them, up higher, “Cause, I’m planning on not moving for a while.”

He lent down and kissed her on her head, “That’s perfectly fine by me! I was lying here thinking about something last night…”

She rolled her eyes at him, “God, you don’t want me to dress up as a sluty nurse or something do you?”

“Oh I like that; I’ll keep it in mind!” She whacked him on his chest, forcing him to gasp then laugh, “No, nothing like that I promise! I was trying to figure out what your real name is, since I’m guessing that Monte isn’t it.”

She smiled and shook her head, “No, Monte’s not my real name, it’s Tareena.”

He nodded and smiled, “I knew it would be something beautiful.”

She looked up at him, “And Joe’s short for Joseph?”

“Yep, except I think the last time I was called that, was when I was in school…No wait, it was Frankie. She was being a smart ass cause she just beat me at a game of pool and she called me ‘Mr. Joseph’ and some comment about me sucking at pool.”

She smiled when she saw the glow on his face when he spoke about Frankie, “She sounds like a bit of a handful.”

He nodded, “Yeah she is, but she’s a good girl, always thought so. She was very good to and for…Michael.”

She heard the regret in his voice, “Who’s Michael?”

“He was my son.”

She instantly picked up on the ‘was’, as he shifted into a more comfortable position under her. She decided that a change of subject was in order. “So, when do I get to test drive that sexy ass of a Ute you have sitting out there?”

He laughed, “Well, if I ever get some work done on her today, then maybe you can.”

She looked at him with wide eyes, “Well what the hell are you still doing in this bed, get out there!”

He was just about to respond, when the phone began to ring. “Great, you’ve even got the telephone company on your side!” He grabbed a stray blanket, wrapping it around himself, before rushing off to answer the phone call.

She snuggled up to his pillow when he left, waiting for his return. However, she wasn’t expecting a frown to be on his face when he did. “What’s up?”

“Delivery truck has broken down, so I have to go pick up my delivery or this place won’t have any beer for the weekend.” He grunted as he sat down on the side of the bed.

She place a hand on his bare back, rubbing at some of the obvious muscle knots, “What’s the problem?”

“It’s going to take me all day, and I have to work on the Ute or it won’t be ready for Frankie’s Birthday.” He shook his head, not knowing how he was going to fit everything in the one day.

Monte smiled, knowing the solution, “Joe, you need to go and pick up your delivery, and I am quiet capable of completing what you need done on the Ute, you just tell me what needs to be done.”

“Are you sure?” He smiled when she nodded, “Um, well there’s a check list on the work bench, but it’s long so you don’t have to do it all ok?”

“It fine Joe, I’ll get as much done as I can.”

He grabbed her into a hug and kissed her, “You’re an angel you know that?”

She winked at him, “I know!”

He laughed, “I’m going to grab a shower, want to join me?”

She beamed, “Hell yes!”

She had just finished up the last thing on Joe’s check list, when she heard his truck driving into the parking lot. She walked outside, shading her eyes from the sun, smiling when she saw him wave to her. She walked inside, into the bar and grabbed two bottles of cold beer and then walked back to the workshop where she knew he would have headed. She found him slumped in a chair, looking at the Ute with amazement. He looked exhausted. “Get this into you” she said, handing him one of the beers.

He smiled as he cracked it open and took a large gulp from the bottle, “That’s exactly what I needed” he stood up and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, still examining the Ute. “So, what have you been up to today?” He smiled, knowing that she had indeed finished the entire list of things to do, but had a fantastic time doing it.

“Well, I found a tiny leak in the fuel line, so I fixed that and then I did the oil change and tune up, and then I took that sweet ass for a test drive. Now I have to tell you Joe, that Ute, is Fine! Oh, and then I just did a little polish job for you, that wasn’t on your list, but I threw that one in for kicks.”

He laughed with amazement, “You are a Rev Head aren’t you? And a little polish job? What did you use? It looks fantastic!” He walked over and ran his fingers over the polished surface.

“Oh, just a bit of C-Wax.”

He turned around and frowned at her, “C-Wax?”

She smiled, Carnauba Wax, it’s a bitch to put on and buff up, but the result is worth it, don’t you think?”

He was speechless. He walked up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, lifting her off the ground. She giggled with happiness. As he put her down, he kissed her, pulling her close to him.

She was happy, something she didn’t expect to find when she got diverted because of those annoying road works.

Joe saw her face fall and instantly knew what she was thinking. “This means you’re leaving, doesn’t it?”

She nodded sadly, “Yeah, I have to go. I didn’t expect to stay here overnight; I really have to get to Texas, and there are still a couple of hours light.”

He nodded his understanding, “Will you be coming back this way?” He asked hopefully with a small smile on his face.

She cheekily smiled at him, “You want me to?”

In between placing kisses on her neck he flippantly said, “Well, I wouldn’t hate the idea.”

She laughed, “Let’s see where those roadworks take me then.”

He stopped kissing her neck, moving to look directly into her eyes, “Thank you Monte.”

She looked at him puzzled, “What for?”

“For breathing fresh air back into this sleepy town, into my bar…into me.”

She kissed him gently on his cheek, “You’re welcome. I better get going.” She stopped him when he went to walk her to her car, “You better stay here, I’m not big on goodbye.” She kissed him once more before walking out the workshop door.

She’d only gone a short distance before she turned, smiled and called out to him, “Hey Joe, if I hear that you’re giving anyone else a shot of whiskey with an olive in it, I’m going to have to come back and kick your ass!

He smiled and nodded, “See you around Monte.”

He watched her drive away, watching him in her rearview mirror.

CHAPTER 19 GOES HERE!

She pulled her car once more into the parking lot, however, this time the parking lot was not empty. She smiled when she saw the still shiny black Ute and the black Impala parked next to one another. The only thing she could think of when she saw the two parked there was double trouble. She decided to park next to the Impala; the Ute was bloody fantastic, but Chevy’s do have to stick together!

She walked into the Bar, raising an eyebrow at the two men sitting at the bar and the women who was behind the bar, helping herself to the spirits. From Joe’s descriptions of Dean, Sam and Frankie, she guessed that’s exactly who these people were.

She walked up to the bar, sitting on a stool next to Dean. She smiled sweetly at him, “Howdy boys, how’s the beer here?”

Dean was about to answer when he caught Frankie’s glare out of the corner of his eye. He turned to Sam, “Ah, let’s go play some pool, hey?” He tapped him on the shoulder as he spun off his stool, walking towards the pool tables at the back.

Monte turned back towards Frankie, “Was it something I said?”

Frankie was unimpressed, “What can I get you?”

Monte raised a questioning eyebrow, “Joe?”

“He’s out the back in the kitchen.”

“Well, why don’t you do tell him that there’s a crazy chick out here that wants an olive in her whiskey?”

Frankie frowned at her, shrugged and went out the back to find Joe.

Monte only had to wait a couple of seconds before Joe busted through the door looking for her. She slid off her stool, smiling at him.

He rushed to her, wrapping his muscly arms around her, lifting her towards him as she wrapped her legs around his waist, crossing her boots as locks. She wrapped her arms around his neck as his hungry mouth met hers.

“Ahem!” Frankie stood some distance from the two, a shocked expression on her face. Joe saw the same expression on the faces of Dean and Sam, who were standing behind Frankie.

Joe turned back towards Monte’s smiling but flushed face, concentrating on every detail of her face and how her body felt in his arms. Without taking his focus from Monte, he stated, “Frankie, boys, the Bar’s closed, lock up for me?” He didn’t wait for any such response before he moved towards the stairs, with Monte still wrapped tightly around him.
