Cupholders Should Never Outnumer Cylinders

I drew this Impala for my buddy Joseph back in September...but, of course the one time I send an original piece of artwork it GOT LOST IN THE MAIL and he never received it

so, a couple days ago, I decided to re-draw it for him

fullsize under the cut

ETA: I thought this went without saying but apparently not...ASK ME BEFORE YOU USE IT...more than likely I'll say yes but I'D LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT IT

it's not as good as the first *sigh*

I've never tried to duplicate anything before, and it was a pain in the ass...for the life of me I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the charcoal to blend as smoothly as the first piece...I was using the same tools, same charcoal...and of course as soon as I finished it, laid in the colored highlights and cleaned up the smudges I realized I used a different kind of paper *facedesk*

the original piece I drew on cardstock, this one I used my actual drawing sketchbook paper, which is slightly textured, especially compared to the cardstock...cue the not blending as smooth

I was pretty pissed, but *shrugs* I hope he likes it

...what do you guys think about me taking commissions? you think that anybody'd be willing to pay for Impala drawings?

friends, cars, artwork
