Monster Book : Thoughts
not sure how this is gonna come out…apparently I’m not as good with words as I thought I was, cus it seems like every time I try explaining how I feel about this season/recent episodes I end up sounding like a shallow winy fangirl
first off, I am and always have been against the whole angels and heaven vs hell storyline
I myself am agnostic, I am not Christian and do not believe in THE god…now, before anyone gets defensive and starts to say THAT’S why I don’t like the storyline lemme explain
I look at Christianity as a THEORY
I myself DO believe there IS something bigger than us, something we’re not meant to and prolly never will explain, but who is to say just WHAT that is…I believe, just not in any one particular faith
I’ve been to everything from Wiccan Sabbats to Seventh Day Adventist church and Jehovah’s Witness events, I have a very open mind when it comes to theology BUT…
when you start mixing religion into anything it’s going to get ugly, that’s all there is to it, there are so many people who believe in so many different things, and to be honest there is a LOT of closed mindedness and ignorant and intolerable people out there
ugly, but still true
nothing will start a heated argument faster than religion…cept maybe politics ;)
and yes I know Supernatural has touched on faith and religions before….HOTH and Faith being the top two that come to mind….BUT, they’ve always talked/referred/treated it as a THEORY
YES this is a religion, YES millions of people believe but NO we are not 100% positive it’s REAL
and I LOVED that about Show…so when 4.01 rolled around and a quote-unquote “angel of the lord” appeared, I was not a happy camper because they just took their religiously broad show and basically said “we believe in Christianity” the end.
that’s why I’ve always been against the angels and heaven vs hell storyline
when you start mixing in religion it can get really messy and really ugly really quickly
just as a example I personally thought the whole sparkly grace thing was trite and cliché and completely lame
my opinion *shrugs*
I do like Cas…I know, seems impossible
but I like him as a CHARACTER… storyline, not so much in my opinion, character, yes
sort of like Cassie (curve ball there huh?) as an IDEA she was excellent, Dean having someone like that in his past, but executed she wasn’t that great
see how it can go both ways?
alright, that being said I’m getting more and more unhappy with the season the deeper it runs into the heaven vs hell…and I think we all assume/know this is going to run right thru s5 and to the series finale, so I’m not sure how happy I’m going to be camping for the rest of the show
but, I am a Supernatural fangirl, I’ve watched from September13th 2005 when the greatest show first graced our airwaves (no pun intended) and no matter how clichéd, trite and lame I personally think the show is getting, or how annoyed, pissed off and disappointed I am, I will continue to watch until the curtain goes down and the frog is dead
but, again, all that being said, my ramble!posts will prolly be a lot less squee heavy an a lot more *groan WTF*
I do sincerely apologize, I know there’s a lot of people out there, and on my flist, that DO like this season’s arc and DO love these recent episodes, I hope I wont lose any of you over just having a different opinion
if my reviews piss you off, feel free to skip, honestly I don’t even know why I do these, it started as a one time gig in s3 on the message board I run and turned into an every episode thing when my girls decided that apparently I write some funny shit *shrugs* I don’t see it
anyways now that I’ve typed 2 pages of just honest to god (again no pun intended) RAMBLE….let’s actually get to the episode shall we? :)

yes I can see and even enjoy the humor of the episode, the writers are poking fun at themselves and us….but I personally thought the storyline, of writing in a writer of the boys lives was lame and a bit of a cop out, I’m not happy they even went there

did anyone else notice that BOTH the customers in the comic shop were wearing Star Wars shirts? lol
and that comic shop guy bugged the fuck outta me, someone on dean_sam figured it out, he was in Devour with Jensen
which reminds me wee!Sam from Something Wicked was on Smallville right before this ep, playing the young Davis Bloome aka Doomsday, that kid is just too cute for his own good

again, another reason I didn’t care for this episode…I thought the whole Chuck/Sam convo was sort of a cop out, to bring up Sam’s….addiction and how he feels…I mean, how else were they gonna bring it up? oh wait, let’s just bring in a character that knows everything anyways *rolls eyes*

Misha and Jensen play well off each other and Cas is obviously picking his side, he might not want to admit, or even LIKE that he’s becoming attached to Dean but he IS and he’s toeing the lie of disobedience to help him
