27. May 29, 2010 (Sat.)
My most vine-intwined, briar rose beaded, genetically similar
jewel'd member of royalty (ma princessœur),
is thirty-one to-day-- her smile is like cream soda,
a soda jerk's wink, rollerskates across marbled
museum floors, popping wheelies in front of nicely bottom'd
statuary. She is the Eloise-at-the-Plaza
of the Washington, DC non-profit scene (and in silks!)
Let me show you a picture of her, i'm reflected in her Hepburn
shades, like i'm at the end of a long tunnel, or deep
inside a kitty-cozy-storm cave made out of down comforters.
Squint and you'll see us, our Himalayan, operatic beasts trapped
in our hugs, laughing ourselves sick at the thunder, taking cover
with Marimekko beneath her bay window. My sister of the fainting
chaise, the conversation couch gaze.
