i took ill yesterday. my kingdom for a fainting couch?

My own death rattle awakes me to moist pillow, red pepper
cheek. It's every childhood fever come to make me clumsy,
forcing mittens on hands, scorching my tongue. Hello again,
helpless. (Triaminic used to be your favourite fake flavour.)
As long as i'm home i may as well help out. i am knitting
spider egg sacs with one thousand splinters of pick up stix.
i am taking the pills from behind the mirror. The window's
splattered with the souls of lost flies. My indoor cat (existence)
and i are to blame for the antennae'd cleansing.
Anne Lamott's small, novel-esque mercies
keep me company in my discomforsomnia.

i'm still recup-ing as the band of broken TOys is going to the Steampunk World's Fair in Pascataway, (that's fun to try to say) NJ tomorrow through Sunday night. we play the main stage Fri/Sat nights, wow! (also feat. friend-bands: HUMANWINE, What time is is Mr. Fox?, Veronique Chevalier, ensmb & mo'!) i've never been to a convention, and the most costume-nundated i've been is the renfaire world. i'm excited. i have dear sweet generous fans to thank for my only truly "steam punk" gear i own. i wish the lovely (very very pretty) girl who gave me my steamcrunkin' goggles at the Tokyo/TT's show had emailed me. thank you wherever you are, dear!

p.s. writer Anne Lamott's a crazy pastylady w. petits badass dreads, aussi?! i didn't know this 'til i read the back of her book i bought this weekend and finished in my sickbed. so i went backwards and read her spiritual memoir and NOW am starting on Bird by Bird which was given to me at my collej graduation. durr. hooray dreadlock'd & key'd pasty poetessorts. we are not so rare, then! (i think i may have more dreads in my future, we shall see, the mono-monacle'dreadlock may be lonely, and i've been showing pictures of my old set as my credentials to help folks with baby dreads lately. haha life is oddlovely)
