The mail room has become the twilight zone

Oct 09, 2008 18:29

So I went to get the mail and more and more it is turning in to the laundry room of my college dorm when I was in Texas. Random people are asking me odd questions lately, today an air force man about the age of my mom asked me, (where do you see yourself a year from now?) well as always when asked a question I answer, I want to be married with a loving husband, live on base don't matter where, have some nice furniture, try to get a head start into writing a book about surviving in an Italian family ,and try to get it published, also master this law school that I am going through right now (the beginning was real easy but now its slowing down). When I was done answering that question he re asked me, asking where do you see yourself in 10 years from now? well of course still married, hopefully still living on base, a kid or two, hope that  I can find the remote for the tv. (lol). He smiled at me and told me that anyone who knows me and loves me is a lucky person, and then asked me why i was so devoted to the military life and I told him that my dad was a marine and died on duty, but he always told my mom that he  wanted for me to date no one besides Marines,Air Force or Army and wished that I would stand next to and support my bf or husband. I feel so safe when I am on base, living of base is killing me :( I spend almost all my day on base at my best friends Nancy house, when I lived in cali I used to always be on base from 7am at the beach till 10pm eat at mcdonalds and then head home around 12am, when we became friends with Sarah that had just got married to Chris she came from Italy we were always at there house from 8am to 3am, sometime I even slept there, at times my mom is like your dad would be so proud of you being so inlove with the military life but you need to turn it down a bit <3  our conversation went on a bit, and he told me that he really needed someone to talk to since his wife just recently passed away from cancer, I felt so sorry, and i know how he feels to loose someone you love so much, and I am glad that he had a smile on his face again after we talked, its true the saying my Pastor used to say when I was at V.C.S. "your day is not complete untill you turn a frown upside down to make a smile."

So since I have a few people reading this I ask you the same two questions. 1. Where do you see yourself in a year from now? 2. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? and my request is to make someone who is a bit  sad and make them laugh and smile. I hope someone will reply to this. Love you and cant wait to see yall soon.
