I love it when I'm right about something

I finally got to see What the (BEEP) do We Know?

I saw it on the shelf at Movie Gallery and, after readiing the back, recognized it as Newage.* In the years that followed I had plenty of people tell me that I needed to see it.

"It's really interesting."

"It'll change how you see the world."

I wonder why it is that nobody ever believes me when I tell them that certain Newage concepts are not new to me. I was hospitalize when I was 14 for having serious breakdowns. Since then I have been bombarded with every self help, religious and pseudoreligious(same thing),pseudoscientific, New age, everything so my parents would safe knowing I would grow up into the same wage slave they did. I even started to believe the shit myself.

I don't even want to talk about my pagan days.

Then it suddenly dawned on me. None of this shit works.

I hate to sound like Richard Dawkins here, people, but no amount of positive thinking will change the course of a tornado. Quantum physics has nothing to do your personal view of the world (it only deals with sub atomic particles).

Here's a warning to you guys for now on (not that anyone reading this has ever been guilty) do not assume that because I don't seem to get out much that I'm looking for some kind of spiritual enlightenment. I want reality, I need people...real people who can keep their feet on the ground..the same ground my feet are on. If it involves invisible forces, mystic energies, misquoted scientific theories, invisible people in the sky, invisible little people running around in the woods, talking to the dead, reading the future, or anything like that...Count me out!**

Which involves What the BEEP do we know? Please research things befor you go blindly falling for them or even suggesting them to your friends. If you ever saw it, please remeber that one of the women in the film is claiming to be channelling a dead warrior from Atlantis!!!!

Yes, I finally watched it and was turned off by it within minutes.

It was indeed Newage.

*No, i did spell that right. Newage: "New" and "Age" shoved together to rhyme with "sewage".

** Mind you, I have no problem with said things if they are presented in the form of fiction or if drugs are involved.
