Heterosexual. It's clear from early on in the film that Mikaela is heterosexual based on her relationships with guys. At the beginning, she is the girlfriend of a side, unimportant character but soon becomes the love interest for the main character Samuel Witwicky. The relationship with Sam continues through the second film, however I'll be taking her from just after the first.

When Mikaela first appears, she seems to be a stuck up, shallow teenage girl. This, however, is not true. At least, not as time goes by. Granted, she doesn't seem to have ever noticed Sam before she got into his car. But once she does, either due to Sam's awkward personality or the nudges given by Bumblebee, Mikaela begins to loosen up around him.
Soon, as she begins to become closer to Sam and also more entangled with the events surrounding the arrival of the Autobots, it's revealed that there definitely is "more than meets the eye" with her, as Sam points out. When she was younger, Mikaela learned how to work on cars as she helped her father. And though a lot of the activities her father partook in were criminal in nature, she still knows he's a good guy and struggles to help him rehabilitate. She says that she has a record because she didn't turn her dad in, a clear sign for how much she cares for him.
Mikaela's openness also allows her to easily accept the arrivals of the Autobots and what it means. She does show some shock at their appearance and their arrivals at first, but after Optimus Prime tells them why they are there, she urges Sam to help them. By Sam's side, she becomes willing to help fight the Decepticons. And early on, when Sam unintentionally runs into her and her friends, she even leaves her friends in order to help Sam out without even knowing what might be going on. Throughout the movie, she remains by Sam's side even when things have become deadly or dangerous. Even when it might have been easier to give up or switch sides. For only the briefest moment does she pause to cry, but the moment passes quickly and she soon rejoins the fight. This time, with Bumblebee's aid.
Not only is Mikaela open and often kind, she's badass in her own right. Her knowledge of machinery, tools, and cars gives her and edge in the fight against the Decepticons. Her quick thinking also helps her to use things to her advantage, like hot-wiring cars or using power tools to take out Decepticons like Frenzy. She also has an attitude, one that shows she's not willing to take crap from anyone, even if they're close to her like her ex-boyfriend Trent or even Sam. Mikaela is determined and strong willed, refusing to leave Bumblebee's side even after she's ordered to.
While she's also snarky and sarcastic, she still has a sweet side that allows her to see the sentimentality in important moments. Such as when she realizes that what she and Sam are doing is very dangerous and tells him that she is grateful to have met him and to have gotten in his car.
» Appearance:
One of the main reason that Mikaela initially comes across as nothing more than a bimbo is her appearance. And though it's clear that she is nothing like a "an evil jock concubine" as Miles describes her, she is very attractive. Played by Megan Fox, Mikaela is the kind of girl all girls want to be or all guys want to be with. Standing about 5'6" and thin, she looks like a model. Her dark brown hair is often tangled and loose during the film due to the circumstances and the fights, however when it is brushed and put up, it frames her face nicely.
» Suitability:
While Mikaela is on the cusp of being eligible for the game, I wanted to also point out that because she is a high school student and because she's dated several times, it's hinted that she is no longer a virgin. She's comfortable with sex as it is a topic girls and guys her age are often confronted with. Not to mention this, but by the second movie, it's suggested that she has had sex with Sam several times, including the time Sam "popped his cherry." These reasons are why I feel she is capable and able to deal with the nature of Amat.
