DAHNGREST BACKGROUND ❀ Born in the city of Aspio, Alphonse was the second son of a well known Aer Alchemist. But when he was still very young, Al's father left on some journey, never to be seen again. Thus, he and his older brother, Edward, grew up alone with their mother. But soon after Alphonse turned 9, their mother became ill and eventually died. Now orphaned, Alphonse and Edward struggled to live on.
Since their father was well skilled in manipulating Aer, Alphonse and Edward grew up learning how and became just as skilled. With a clap of their hands, they could use their blastia, calling forth books of knowledge, scrolls, and even use the raw energy of Aer to change the things around them into what they needed. It was using this power they planned on reviving their mother. Unfortunately, the attempt failed, even going so far as to backfire on Ed and Al. Edward disappeared, to Alphonse's dismay, while he lost an arm and was forced to seek the aid of a local mechanic who also happened to be his and his brother's childhood friend. As a genius, she was able to create a fully functioning arm that allowed Alphonse to move like normal. Even down to the fingers.
Once he was able to move about again, Alphonse decided to leave his home town and search for his brother. With him, he took his aer manipulating abilities (which allowed him to move through Blastia barriers) and the coat his brother loved to wear. But after several years of traveling without finding his brother, Alphonse decided to return to Aspio to seek the knowledge of any of the guilds that might help him.
PERSONALITY ❀ One thing to remember about Alphonse Elric is how much he cares. He often extends a hand of friendship to strangers, even if they seem untrustworthy. He cares so much about his older brother that he's willing to travel anywhere at anytime if he might find him. Even when he is not around his brother, whom he cares for (arguably) more than life itself, his kindness and eagerness to help shows through. This is most show in his demeanor. Alphonse is incredibly polite, even going so far as to use "Mr." or "Mrs." with those he deems enemies. He is known to put his own life at risk to aid those he does not know well. This is perhaps because Alphonse knows completely how valuable life is. Al is also very affectionate, willing reaching out to others to hold, or touch. He also has a weak spot for anything small and fluffy, usually along the feline variety.

LOG ❀ Alphonse blinked slightly, waiting for his eyes to re-adjust to the low lighting of his home town. After five years of traveling, he was finally back and he still hadn't found his brother. But he haven't given up hope yet. He was sure that Edward was still alive somewhere. He just hadn't found where yet.
First things first, though, he needed to stop by his old friend's shop to get adjustments done on his arm. It was still in good shape, a credit to the genius girl's ability to create, but during battles and searches, a few screws had come loose and needed to be fixed. He just hoped Winry wouldn't be too mad about him being away for so long. The last thing he wanted was a bruise at the top of his head again, like the many he had received when he was younger.
Once that was done, Alphonse decided his first destination would be the library. He had come across many different cities in his wanderings and knew of the many guilds in each one. But he needed to read up on some of them. Hopefully, he would find just what he needed, and if it was necessary, he’d join it.
