Title: 5 Times SHINee Were Arrested
Fandom: SHINee
Pairings: OT5 fluff
Summary: 5 times SHINee are arrested and 5 times they bail each other out.
1.
Key’s the sort of person who is fiercely and viciously protective of his friends and family but, with the notable exception of Taemin, he rarely says it. So when Shin Sekyung breaks up with him and Jonghyun comes home looking like someone’s ripped his heart out and trampled it in 3 inch heels, crying harder than that one time they won on their comeback, Key merely retreats into the kitchen and retrieves the ice cream and chocolate milk while Onew and Taemin are flitting around hugging him and patting his back and Minho’s desperately chocking on the ‘I told you so’ that wants to come out. Knowing Key as they did, they should have known that wasn’t the end though.
Sure enough 6 months later Key goes out for a night with his 91’ line and the other’s laugh at Minho, knowing that he’s going to have to be the one to deal with Key when he comes home drunk at 3 o’clock in the morning. However 3:14 rolls around, all of them are soundly asleep and rather than waking to the sound of Key stumbling into their apartment and singing under his breath Minho scowls as his phone rings.
Key always goes to Minho when he’s drunk so it makes sense that he’d call Minho when he’s drunk and in police custody.
Minho frantically pulls on a scarf, sunnies and cap not bothering to change out of his track pants and t-shirt, throwing another set of a similar disguise into the passenger seat and getting to the police station in record time.
When he gets there, the police officer explains that Key and his friend, who turns out to be Jinwoon, had been caught vandalizing Shin Sekyung’s car. Luckily she wasn’t in the country and had no idea who had slashed her tires, keyed her car doors and painted slut in bright pink across her bonnet, but was not planning on pressing charges according to her manager. Minho shoved the cap on a still drunk and giggling Key, wrapping the scarf around his head so he could hardly see and shoved the sunglasses at Jinwoon, who seemed slightly more sober than Key but equally unashamed.
Minho drops Jinwoon off at 2AM’s dorms, heads home and thanks god that their manager had slept through the whole thing, including Key tripping over the entryway, landing flat on his face and laughing like a lunatic.
2.
Taemin calls Jonghyun because Jonghyun’s the one least likely to give him a lecture. Jonghyun gets the call at 12 o’clock at night when Key’s at a schedule and Minho and Onew are already in bed. He’s almost leveled up again in Diablo when his phone goes off and he reluctantly answers it when he sees Taemin’s name, knowing there’d be hell to pay if the others found out he’d ignored a call from their magnae.
‘Hyung,’ Taemin starts, and there’s a shy curl to his voice that Jonghyun hasn’t heard for a while: it used to be Taemin’s normal speaking voice but now-a-days had evolved into his ‘I’ve done something wrong and I’m trying to butter you up’ voice. Jonghyun paused his game, ‘Can you come pick me up,’
‘Where are you?’ Jonghyun asks reluctantly standing and retrieving his keys and jacket.
‘Seodaemun-gu Police Station,’ Taemin answers innocently and Jonghyun catches himself on the door, turns, goes back into the apartment and grabs a beanie, scarf and sunglasses.
‘Coming,’ he mutters.
Jonghyun speaks with the officers, signs him out and shoves the pair of sunglasses and hat at Taemin, who waves them off, pulling his own disguise out of his bag and following Jonghyun out into the cool night air. They don’t say anything for awhile, just walking along in a comfortable silence.
‘So…’ Jonghyun starts and waits for Taemin to explain himself. Taemin grins and shrugs at the older boy:
‘How was I supposed to know it was still illegal if I was fully consenting? And in my defence, she didn’t look 28,’ Taemin smirks and Jonghyun barks out a laugh, high-fiving the younger male
3.
Minho doesn’t have to call Taemin. Taemin is standing right there when he’s arrested. There’s a girl, a young pretty thing with large black eyes peeking hesitantly out from behind Taemin as the police officer slaps a pair of handcuffs on the older boy.
‘Is this the man who’s been following you?’ The officer asks stiffly and Minho struggles, wanting desperately to explain himself.
‘You don’t understand, we’re friends! We live together and I was just trying to figure out where Taemin’s been disappearing too all the time. I didn’t think he’d freak out and call the police!’ Minho cried, twisting as the second officer shoved his face into the bonnet of the police car and ordered him to lay still.
‘Is that true?’ The officer asks Taemin and Minho gets a glimpse of Taemin’s expression from where his cheek is smashed against the car and dread settles into the pit of his stomach.
‘I’ve never seen this man in my life,’
Minho punches him in the nose when he comes and bails him out 18 hours later with hickeys painted proudly all over his neck.
4.
Jonghyun calls Onew because Onew’s the kindest out of his bandmates and therefore the least likely to laugh. He’s also not a gossip and Jonghyun really doesn’t want this to get back to the others. If he was arrested for getting into a fight or something he wouldn’t have minded so much, but this was beyond lame. Onew gets the call in broad daylight, 2 o’clock in the afternoon, and has to ask really nicely to borrow Minho’s car, while stuttering his way through a really bad lie that he’s lucky Minho chooses to let go, because Jonghyun had practically begged him not to tell anyone where he’s going.
Onew pays the bail, gives him a hug when they let him out of the cell and leads him to the car without saying a word. They sit in silence for a moment before Onew turns to Jonghyun with his ‘leader face’ and smiles brightly.
‘Want to tell me what that was about?’ He asks gently and it makes Jonghyun feel even more like an idiot.
‘Not really,’ he muttered and Onew frowns, obviously concerned.
‘Is there something wrong Jongie? Do you need to talk about anything? Any…feelings?’ Onew asks awkwardly and Jonghyun just wants the carseat to open up and swallow him.
‘No…it’s just I…I went to get some lunch at that one really good bibimbap place down near the practice building after recording this morning and ate and…forgot my wallet,’ Jonghyun confessed, turning and waving his arms around, ‘but that ahjumma was crazy. She started yelling and calling me names and she wouldn’t let me call one of you guys to come pay! Then she called the police and they arrested me! It was only 6,000 won hyung,’ Jonghyun whined loudly and Onew blinked at him bemusedly.
‘Oh,’ he muttered, turning and starting the car. Nothing more was said on the matter.
5.
Onew blames his Super Junior hyungs entirely and wants to die. He reluctantantly calls Key. He knows that getting out of this particular situation is going to take some fast-talking and he would rather die than call their manager. All of Super Junior were too piss drunk to be of any use, of this he was certain.
Key is just getting in from his musical practice when Onew calls.
‘Kibummie,’ Onew starts and Kibum knows just by the tone of his voice that he needs Kibum to come and bail him out of some ridiculous mess. He pressed his eyes closed, pinching at the bridge of his nose and shoving his feet back into his shoes irritably. As he’s moving out of the apartment, he grabbed the by now standard disguise wear they keep next to the door.
‘I’m coming,’ he muttered, slamming the door shut behind and scrawling the address Onew recites onto his hand. He’s not expecting to actually have to bail Onew out.
‘What the fuck hyung?’ Kibum asks, dark circles under his eyes as he stares at Onew through the holding cell bars. He’s been put in a cell on his own for obvious reasons: he’s buck naked with the exception of the large blanket the officers have managed to procure from somewhere. Kibum passes practice bag through the cell bars, holding his dirty sweat pants and oversized shirt. They’re damp, but they’re no doubt better than walking around in nothing but a blanket. He also shoved the scarf, cap and glasses at Onew.
‘The Super Junior hyungs convinced me to drink with them at the practice rooms. We were dancing around a lot and I wanted a shower before we headed off. I got out of the shower and they’d stolen my clothes. The police officer caught me trying to run to the van,’ Onew confessed, face bright red. Kibum rubs at his temples and wearily trudges off to convince the police officer’s his friend was on medication that didn’t mix well with alcohol and he was also a bit of an idiot for taking his clothes off around Super Junior.
