[ As the communicator hits the pavement, there's a clatter and the video comes to life. It's odd angle shows a body on the ground, a slow puddle of blood forming around it as the form struggles to breathe. From above, there's the sound of a voice. ]

[ runs out of the apartment and the building, toward where Rolo's communicator showed he was. he finds the boy pretty easily, and kneels beside him, checking for a pulse and the wound ]

Rolo, I'm going to take you to the hospital. [ all business ]

[ Blood still seeps from the wound on his shoulder, his clothing now stained a deep red from it. With his hands broken, he can't push himself up, the pain too much. ]

[And up strolls a guy in entirely too much leather.]

Well. That's more than a scratch, this time.

[ looks up at the newcomer suspiciously at first; hasn't met this person yet. ]

Who are you? [ strips off his own shirt because he's not going to jostle Rolo's hands trying to take his off. binds the shoulder with one of the sleeves. ]

[ Winces visibly, barely managing to look up at the two faces that swim in his vision. ]

M-Mr... Mello?

[Mello nods at Rolo - not that he can probably notice.] That's right. Don't talk, and don't move.

[He turns to Suzaku next - doesn't exactly answer his question, but moves right along to the task at hand.] You're gonna want to put more pressure on that and stop the bleeding before you try moving him. Here. [He steps over toward them a little closer and kneels to assist.]

[ gets that Rolo knows him, and the man's not outwardly a threat. doesn't argue when Mello moves closer to help. ]

Thanks. [ lets Mello apply pressure and carefully looks at Rolo's hands. ]

These are... really bad.

[ Winces again, a whimper escaping him. O-owies... He struggles to push himself up a bit more. ]

You should listen to him, Rolo. [ looks up at the -- very scarred young man, though he says nothing to draw attention to it. ] How is the wound? [ rests Rolo's hands on his chest, so they won't jar too much when he's picked up. ]

[ Whimpering again, he refrains from nodding despite the instinct. He simply closes his eyes shut tight, waiting for whatever happens next. ]

[He notes Rolo speaking, but doesn't comment on it, instead speaking to Suzaku:] Bad. Definitely going to need a doctor, as soon as the bleeding stops. [Mello continues staring down at Rolo from behind his sunglasses, lips pressed together in a thin line.] You're not his brother, right?
