It was time for Peter's very first Hegemonial photo shoot. And, you know, there might have been a time where he'd have felt flattered about it. It wasn't that he didn't understand the importance of it - it was vital that he push his image as a thoughtful Hegemon capable of handling important problems despite technically not even being of age yet (

"Boys," Natalie said, in a dry, mock chiding voice, barely glancing up from her all-important work of sending emails and the like. "No fighting."

"Oh, look who decided to wake up," Peter muttered.

[whenshewasnice]

Natalie rolled her eyes. It was a thing here.

"Don't be grumpy, it'll make you look tense."

[lockestheway]

"I'm not grumpy. I'm just thinking about the size of my inbox," Peter said, then slammed his eyes shut as they came around with another layer of foundation.

[whenshewasnice]

"Then don't snark at me for clearing up mine," she replied without heat, idly observing the makeup process for a second before her gaze was drawn back to the work at hand. "I'm still keeping an eye on you so they don't make you look like a clown."

"You mean he doesn't already?" Bean asked.

"Out," Peter instructed him. "I'll be with you tomorrow."

[whenshewasnice]

"Goodbye, Mr. Delphiki," Natalie agreed. "I can take over for the lazy insults here."

[lockestheway]

"Works for me," Bean said and shrugged. It wasn't like being around Peter was a big hobby. He left the room without as much as a goodbye.

Peter let out a long, tortured sigh.

So dramatic. Natalie sent off the email she'd been working on instead of rolling her eyes.

"Such friendship."

[lockestheway]

"He's just being smug on purpose," the pot muttered.

[whenshewasnice]

"Mm, unlike everyone else," Natalie replied, only a hint of dryness in there with the mild. "Completely unprecedented."

[lockestheway]

"Hey, I give him respect," Peter argued, his eyes still closed. "I listen to him. But does he offer me the same courtesy? No."

[whenshewasnice]

"I think you may be a little off about that," Natalie noted. "But not a whole lot."

[lockestheway]

"How?"

He turned his head to face her, which earned him an instant reprimand from his make-up person.

"He's pissy, yes, but I don't think it's a complete lack of respect," she said. "But in all fairness, he probably says the same exact things about you."
