Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Peter's Time, Saturday

Jun 02, 2012 14:05

"Welcome to the Haitian seat of government," Peter said merrily as they went up the steps, flanked on each side by a bodyguard. "It was built in 2100 - so it's an old beast. Practically a monument these days. You've got to give the architects credit, though - they love their straight lines."

He'd enlisted Natalie's help in various tasks over the past 24 hours - translating documents being firstmost among them. This, however, was a different scenario entirely. Prime Minister LeBon had requested his presence and his advice.

The man himself spoke perfect English, but his aides didn't, nor did some of the dignitaries that liked to pop in and out of LeBon's office.

Besides, if anyone was talking smack in French behind his back, he'd like to know.
