Satellite reports from date Delphiki family killed: Nine vehicles simultaneous departure from northern Russia location, 64 latitude. Encrypted destination list attached. Genuine dispersal? Decoy? What's our best strategy, my friend? Eliminate or rescue? Are they children or weapons of mass destruction? Hard to know. Why did that bastard Locke get Ender Wiggin sent away? We could use that boy now I think. As for why only nine, not ten vehicles: maybe one is dead or sick. Maybe one has turned. Maybe two have turned and were sent together. All guesswork. I only see raw satdat, not intelnetcom. reports. If you have other sources on that, feed some back to me?

Well, at least not everyone in the world knew who he was, Peter reflected. And it wasn't really like he needed the extra confirmation that his estimate had been right - though the fact that there had been nine, not ten -- well, that meant something.
Especially with the Russian government pledging to release... everyone but one of the Battle School kids. Petra Arkanian. Oh, sure, they hadn't announced that out loud to everyone, but it was right here in the info.
Why not Arkanian? Had she been killed? That would be the least problematic option. Or was someone using her? Squirreling her away? Had Achilles wrangled something?
Peter stared at his desk, lost in thought. Sure, he'd finally managed another victory - but what were the consequences from here on in?
